Why Join Learn to Skate USA as a Beginner Skater?
At Edge Up Ice, We recommend all beginning skaters keep an active Learn to Skate USA membership.
Why? Because, Learn to Skate USA gives beginner skaters a trusted, nationally recognized foundation — and it includes secondary sports accident insurance, which adds an extra layer of protection for skaters and families while participating in Learn to Skate USA programs and events.
“Before you can become a figure skater, you need to learn how to ice skate.”
The program is designed especially for beginners, with a step-by-step curriculum that helps skaters build skills safely and confidently. Learn to Skate USA describes its curriculum as being “designed to build skills and confidence” as skaters move through the levels.
The seasonal membership runs July 1st - June 30 annually. Your Membership includes helpful beginner benefits, such as:
✔ Secondary sports accident insurance
✔ A welcome packet and skater record book
✔ Access to the Learn to Skate USA mobile app
✔ Progress tracking and badges

Most importantly, Learn to Skate USA helps families feel connected to the larger skating community. Their mission is “to provide a fun and positive experience” that encourages a lifelong love of skating.

We are excited to continue giving every beginner skater at Ice Palace a strong, safe, and successful start!
